Description

This is the Atomic Czar, a frequent enemy of Zharova, and also Thunder Woman through his association with the supervillain mercenary team called Superpower.

Atomiczar was a Russia criminal, a soldier imprisoned in the gulags after murdering a fellow soldier in a brawl. Along with his fellow inmates, he was drafted into a program to test out an experimental teleportation system, with the prisoners as expendable human test subjects. If they lived, they gained their freedom. Otherwise, it was death…or worse. So far, the latter had been the only outcome. When it was his turn, his atoms were blasted apart, ostensibly to reform in another location. When he did not appear, he was presumed dead. But in actuality, his atoms were projected into another dimension, where his body and atomic properties were reformed and reconfigured to adapt to a completely different set of physics. He was able to reform himself and return to our dimension, reforming back into a 3D space-time suited body. However, he was changed, carrying an enormous store of energy in his body, as well as having control over the strong and weak nuclear forces. He carried the power to destroy and create matter. Atomiczar decided on a little revenge on Russia. He figured with his power he could pay back those who imprisoned him, while at the same time making a bit of money and power. He was successful in establishing himself as a powerhouse and making some money in his criminal endeavors, but anything too ambitious found him opposed by Russia’s superheroes, particularly SETI, Zharova, and Andronik.

Having trouble truly accomplishing anything with the native heroes in his way, he left Russia to pursue better opportunities abroad. He arrived in Newport City, where he worked as muscle for the Russian Mafia. This led to him encountering Thunder Woman, who, with help from Zharova, deported him back to Russia. However, while awaiting trial there, Atomic Czar was broken out by a group of villains, who gave him an offer to join them in exchange for his freedom. He agreed, figuring allies would be a benefit if he had to confront more superheroes. Ever since, Atomic Czar has been a member of Superpower, acting as the powerhouse of the team. They have proven to be quite the thorn in Thunder Woman's side, and together have managed to elude her, Zharova, and any other heroes that attempt to capture them, even if many of their schemes don't work out.

Atomic Czar possesses the power to create and destroy matter. He can generate blocks of matter in whatever shape he can think of, using these as barriers or to crush opponents. On the flipside, he can disintegrate his constructs and anything he touches, converting matter into raw energy. He can use this energy to fly and generate explosive blasts of energy, or cause direct damage to anything her touches. Lastly, Atomic Czar's body renders him immune to human needs like food and air, disease or poison, and radiation, and confers on him great superhuman strength and toughness, enough that he can go one-on-one with Thunder Woman in a physical fight.
